Film noir is applied to define the crime dramas, especially elements that consist of sexual emotion and to emphasize on over reaction attitudes. It is the most attracted genre during the early postwar period as it has been seen as emblematic in cinematic culture and the tone of American culture. Film noir started to be known as the film of death. But it does not monopoly death and it is not a crime documentary but it is the actual cases that happen in certain places and at certain times.
Film noir is believed to of started from the early 1940’s stretching to the late of 1950’s. This era of film noir is connecting with a low key, black and white visual style. Film noir coves many different plots such as the lead role, which tends to be a true detective stories or a victim of incident was known as the gangster movie hardboiled pulp fiction.

In the beginning of stages of a film noir most features where American productions, from the 1960’s onwards, however film noir has been famous after that. Neo noir are just simply a modern film of the classic version of film noir ‘The first major film to overly work this angle, was French Director Jean Luc Godard’s. Add a new style for a new day and definitely not a genre, neo-noir has few qualities that are differing from film noir. Neo-noir style is more transposition in terms of art. It is a style of filmmaking that began in the early 1960s and fiercely continues into the present example “Memento”, showing the dark side of American life and dreams. This style includes crime, suspense, and thriller movies. Neo-noir contains doomed characters and presents melodramatic, psychological, detective, and western themes.
